Artist Statement
My work is an extension of me, it’s an honest visual narrative which sometimes includes a mix of raw emotions, natural talent, a formal education, with an urban edge, and strong street art ascetic.
The visual commentary in my artwork includes a vast range of work expressing my playful Jr. High School sense of humor, to a Social and Political Perspective.
My current body of work has been based on my ceramic exploration which includes hand cast miniature brick walls, with a graffiti style, which at times contain hidden messages, the skulls are also hand cast, much of them contain imagery, Crowns with luster finishes, multiple layers of glazes, and even incorporating, the mixed media aspect, by utilizing Acrylics, and spray paints as well.
The skulls are both a challenge and a lot of fun at the same time for me personally, due to the scientific aspects of ceramic in general. I now have also come to realize that I should be more vocal as an artist, so I started doing a weekly Monday 2 Monday, Motivational Monday campaign New Years Day 2018.
